Development and characterization of viticulture by-products for building applications

This work deals with the manufacture of new bio-based materials for building insulation from viticulture by-products, and potato starch. Four types aggregates were used separately: grape pomace, stalks, skins, crushed stalks. The starch/aggregate mass ratio was set at 20% samples obtained characterized in terms density, thermal conductivity, compressive bending strength, sound absorption coefficient. conductivity different composites found to be ca 0.075 W/(mK). Compression tests showed a high compression resistance starch/stalk, pomace/starch, stalk/starch composites. coefficient indicated that these can use as absorbers, especially starch/grape pomace composite measured 0.42 low thickness 20 mm only. Overall, by-products/starch seem have good thermal, mechanical, acoustic performance public construction.
